Hard to see how damn sumptuous this cashmere work shirt is, but trust me, it’s sumptuous to the MAX. Also, modernist clip-on earrings by JuneThings…❤️.
I haven’t really been shopping (much) lately. Well, not unless you count 50 sheets of pine plywood. Building a small house isn’t cheap, which means I have to really ruminate on pricier personal things, even dinners out, that at face value might seem….frivolous😈.
Because, if there’s one thing building a literal house has been teaching me—albeit a small one—is that every choice really counts. Nowadays when I shop (for anything), I’m thinking about how it’s going to add to our lives—how much we’ll use it, how it will wear, if we’ll get bored of it too soon. It’s taught me a lot about not only how I shop, but how I dress—or want to dress these days, squarely focused on Less Is More AND More Is Less type stuff, i.e: less things, but THINGS with MORE substance. Things that can literally make me sigh or shriek OUT LOUD because it’s such a welcome reminder of what being GREAT really is. Things that, after so much disappointing, junky stuff, can remind us what a rich, expensive brown actually looks like…in person, not just on our phones…and even make us feel ALIVE.
And so I’ve been keeping a tight list of the 7+ things that have Passed Inspection—only the BEST things I’ve bought/watched/learned about that are making me feel inspired and ready for a new chapter of doing, dressing, building, etc. Btw, Raffi started Kindergarten today. And, as I was typing a short caption on IG, I remembered that the first day of anything, is a big deal for all of us…even if it’s just a new season. So, here’s to What’s To Come...❤️xxCb
