For You, My January Recommendations
A superb gluten-free bread, new notebook mania (!!), the cleaning product that makes me feel like I'm RICH, two cool lamps I really want + what I wore to my mammogram š.
Hi, gangā¦how are we all easing into 2024? January can be a very moody month, so if youāre feeling tender and need to hole up a bit while you nest and hibernate, by all means, please do so. My friend reminded me not too long ago that flowering plants and trees canāt survive unless they go to sleep for a few months every year. And wouldnāt that be niceā¦to have a designated month JUST for sleeping/resting/being quietā¦oh, do Sign Me Up.
Hibernation stationā¦one of my Raffiās favorite books for bedtime, Chipmunk at Hollow Tree Lane. Chipmunk knows how to do winter.
In other news, I got my annual mammogram this week. Ever since I had a not-so-great one right before Raffi was born (it led to a lumpectomy, but everything turned out OK), they always fill me with some level of dread. So, Iāve really had to train myself to be upbeat (documented in the changing room below), and remind myself that itās not just a day Iām getting a mammogram, but a day that all these other wonderful, surprising things can happen, too. Like finding a pair of perfect vintage red-and-white linen kitchen towels at Vintage Thrift afterwards, which I did:)ā¦ā¤ļø
Okay, enough yapping, on with the SHOWā¦.
My New $15 Corduroy Cap. I found this unexpectedly last weekend at Front General Store in Dumbo, and Iāve been wearing it nonstop (itās come in quite handy with all the weird wet weather weāve been having). Hereās a link to camel-colored one and I like the black/brown one, too. Also Iām wild about this plush gold one from Madewellā¦.CUTE.
