I’m not sure if it’s Daylight Savings or hormones or a little too much Severance before bed, but I have been having some wild dreams lately. One in fact about someone I haven’t heard from or thought of in years—only to discover just a few days later that very person’s name sitting in my in-box…like, C’MON. To be fair, neither me nor Kevin have been sleeping much lately, knowing we have just shy of five weeks to finish nearly everything—which is still A LOT—on the cabin upstate (ie: the hard deadline is due to a photo-shoot for an upcoming story I cannot wait to tell you about:).
So, yeah, FREAKING out over here. Mostly on the inside. Occasionally on the outside.
In the midst of one particularly sucky psyche spiral, the grand ole algorithm did one nice thing for me and served me up this gem…
I don’t particularly love social media these days, but this person I do not know telling me to stop whining, get my boots on, go outside and “just dance, OKAYYY??” has somehow made that pinchy stress spasm between my shoulder blades a little less agonizing. So, that’s the theme for today’s edition: We are HIGH-VIBING and fabulous. Case closed.
To kick us off, I took my first bike ride of the season yesterday just before sunset, and it was BLISS. While I cruised, I listened to this cover of “Creep” by the Belgian girl’s choir Scala + Kolacny Brothers that, given the state of things right now (ALL the things), might make you weepy. Or just really, really happy.
Also making me happy….
This room I saw on artist Umberto Corrado’s feed.
Made me instantly happy to be someone who, despite living in a small space, loves to live with THINGS, and make a beautiful home of those things, too. They don’t have to match or have a pedigree, just the things that make you feel most alive and at peace where you are. When I look around our apartment, I often wonder which details my daughter will remember when she’s older or things she’ll miss when they’re gone (for me it was the giant hook-rug art over our sofa growing up or the old wooden pantry in the dining room where my mom kept all our cereals). The room above also made me think about this post from Hans Lorei Design about collecting and leaning into historic themes in a modern way.
CDK Dance Company, “Somebody I Used to Know” by Gotye
Bringing back this mesmerizing dance performance by the CDK Dance Company and Sergio Reis in the Netherlands. My daughter is starting to get into dance, and sharing this with her and her friend last week, seeing how she responded to the choreography, the way the dancers move together and tell a story through each section of the piece, basically makes my heart explode. Also, I’m not sure what the story is behind the costume design but I LOVE IT. The palette reminded me of Raf Simons back in his Jil Sander/Dior days, and the neckties and jewel-tone suiting had a bit of that Miu Miu 2012/2013 energy. ACCKKK, I just love it ALL.

Also, T Magazine confirmed in their recent issue what I’ve been feeling about the joie de vivre of cravats/ascots/neck-scarves lately…

And because I love you, here are a few options for getting your cravat on this spring…MOOD 😎✨. Clockwise from top left: Silk bandana by TOAST, vtg striped silk ascot (my personal FAVE), vtg YSL neck scarf, vtg Courrèges silk necktie, vintage printed silk ascot, twill silk scarf by Lost Pattern.

Carted—A new app for organizing all my crazy lists.
I really had no business downloading anymore apps, but when the fine people over at Carted reached out to partner with A Tiny Apt., I was curious to learn more. While I would say I’m an organized person, I’ll admit trying to merge all my wish-lists across second-hand sites and other retailers wasn’t exactly working out for me (read: not at all:). But shortly after using the app, I could see how smart and utility-driven it is—optimizing how we shop so we can keep better track of the things we love and need, especially if they're in short supply or one-of-a-kind (ie: vintage:). So far, I’ve been able to curate + drill down lists for all my projects/upcoming events, ie: our Brooklyn bedroom refresh, Raffi’s summer camp stuff, and most timely, outfitting our tiny cabin from scratch (ie: sponges, down pillows, soap, endless 🙄). Bonus: This is pretty cool, the app can alert me when something is back in stock or drops in price (you can also price compare, which is handy). So, if you're also juggling a lot these days and just want to make smarter choices, this app can help. I promise to report back in a week or two with an update on how the app is going, so stay tuned. And please do give it a download/spin and let me know what you think.
Crates—COOL crates.

I’m in the process of seeking out clean, flexible storage to complement our custom wood cabinets in the cabin, and while catching up on Laura Fenton/Living Small’s latest “Small Takes” column profiling Brooklyn-based interiors stylist Merie Subryan, I spotted these crates beneath a simple plywood bed.
The crates are by HAY and come in so many beautiful bright and muted tones/shades, I am likely going to buy 100 of them. Better still, they are crafted from recycled plastic, so I suppose that’s 100 crates worth of plastic that will be diverted from a landfill.
After the jump (if you’re a free subscriber and wondering if it’s worth it to upgrade): Two pairs of chic black pants—one pair that I bought and the other that I want—the upcoming exhibition I can’t wait to see at MOMA, the tiny desk I’m obsessed with, two cool color combos I’m really into rn, AND the new eye cream stick I’ve been taking everywhere with me.❤️
