I grew up only a few miles away from Bottrop, a town in Germany with a fine museum called Quadrat. Anni Albers donated many of Josef Albers’ pieces of art to that museum. In my opinion her work is still underrated, it’s not only a bit weaving by women as it was regarded even by other Bauhaus artists. She is one of the most interesting and talented artists of the last century for me.
Oh COMPLETELY. It's wild how much her work in pattern, textile, abstraction have influenced SO MUCH...I am just so moved by the way she saw the world and the beauty within it...how she translated that.
