Plus, a WILD Goodwill story, as well as some expert thrifting tips from my friend Jillian, an official appraisal GENIUS💫.
Must see photo of Quan Yin statue ... My eyes have been peeled FOREVER in consignment stores. Saw one is Salt Lake City at Decades--OMG, that is a place you'd never leave, they supply vintage outfits for movies etc--but I digress, the owner would not sell. AND, the John Lennon cover, did you know he died just hours after that was taken? I always feel when I see it that it is a foreshadowing of him returning to how he began.
“BUY WHAT YOU LIKE” ❤️ The best advice! Another great post, Christene, that LL BEAN robe is perfect and it’s so great to watch your home coming more and more to life each week.
That ball chain necklace takes me right back to Sarah Lawrence in 1998, when we all wore them. I need to make it find another. Thanks to Jillian for the tips and to you both for the stories of great finds!
My best thrift find would be a full length black wool beaded Gene Shelly gown! It was $18. Thrifting clothes feels less fun thanks to Shein and Lularoe, so I’ve come to terms with walking away empty handed or with one or two special things.
Love ,love ,love this newsletter! The NECKLACE! ...so lucky to score 2 of a kind! I am so jealous and wondering about the message someone is sending..ha! A big thank you to you for introducing us to Jillian and thank you to Jillian for sharing such helpful and insightful tips. I feel encouraged to start carrying my loupe again, it will give me thrills! Cheers to looking with new eyes...Oxo
